December 2009 Biddiscombe Expands Spray Tan Equipment Program
Biddiscombe International, a leader in the development and manufacture of spray tanning solutions, has expanded its spray tanning presence by becoming a distributor of HVLP equipment manufactured by Earlex of the UK and Apollo Sprayers of Vista CA. The units are used to apply DHA solutions in an efficient, customizable process that is both technician and customer friendly. Each HVLP or high volume, low pressure spray system is designed to apply DHA sunless tan solutions quickly with minimal overspray.
Roxie Cariere, Director of Sales, said that “DHA solution and related product sales grew significantly for us in 2009 and we expect the sunless UV-free tan market to be strong in 2010. Having a complete equipment line covering all needs and price points is a natural extension for us to participate in the market’s growth.”
Biddiscombe is one of the oldest formulators of DHA spray tanning solutions in the tanning industry and offers a broad range of distinct sunless tan formulations to meet the specific needs of tanning professionals including its Honey and Nutmeg solutions at 95%+ organic and 100% natural.
“The enhancement of our equipment program follows Biddiscombe’s introduction last year of the S4200 solution designed for use in Versaspa spray booths.” Technical Director Thomas Conde stated. “As equipment becomes more refined, so must the solutions we provide. It is important that in the creation of solutions, we take into consideration the equipment that will be used and formulate in a manner that takes full advantage of the strengths of that equipment.”
Cariere added “Our specialty is first and foremost the juice as DHA solution is often called. Solid equipment and good solution lead to happy, tanned customers. Our goal is to meet all the needs of tanning professionals whether they are doing custom hand application with HVLP or airbrush applicators or are using spray booths such as those made by Versaspa and Mystic”.
October 2008 Organic Sunless Solutions for VersaSpa® Tanning Booths
Biddiscombe International, LLC, a Florida based formulator and manufacturer of skin care and other products, is pleased to announce that it has released two new organic-based solutions specifically designed for use in VersaSpa® spray tanning booths and marketed as a viable alternative to that being distributed by the booth manufacturer.
“Individual owners of VersaSpa spray booths asked Biddiscombe as an innovative developer of sunless tanning products and spray solutions to create a high quality solution that would work well in their booths and that would improve the profits derived from the units” said Roxie Cariere, head of sales. “The booth owners wanted choice and manufacturer’s direct pricing and we delivered. We can offer owners huge savings.”
VersaSpa tanning booths are made by MT Manufacturing. Biddiscombe’s S4200 program is an independent product offering and is not affiliated with or part of MT Manufacturing, the owner of the VersaSpa trademark.
Biddiscombe utilized it capabilities with organic products by creating the S4200 Solutions containing predominantly natural ingredients and in excess of 83% certified organic ingredients including EcoCert certified organic dihydroxyacetone (DHA), the key tanning ingredient. Cariere noted “the response has been terrific even though the product has just been introduced. The booth side of the sunless tanning business comprises over 75% of sunless spray volume and it appears that VersaSpa is becoming the dominant booth. Biddiscombe as a manufacturer of solutions is strategically focusing on this market segment.”

SEPTEMBER 2007 EQUIPMENT PROGRAM RE-ESTABLISHED
Biddiscombe announced this month that it has resumed selling sunless equipment in addition to its sunless solutions, tanning lotions and skin care products. The equipment includes air-brush systems from Iwata-Medea and Badger, and HVLP systems by Accuspray, and is being sold under the actual manufacturer’s name. Customers then know who is making their equipment and are assured of solid maintenance and warranty support. Partnering with prestigious manufacturers ensures that customers get one-stop shopping with the best in equipment, solutions, support products and retail products. Biddiscombe will also carry a limited supply of parts and is happy to assist customers with locating any additional parts they may need. We also provide basic operator support and have instructional DVDs for both airbrush and HVLP applications.
