SIMPLE SPRAY GUN SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

For Earlex and Apollo Guns

PROPER SETUP WILL MAKE THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN A GREAT APPLICATION AND A HORRIBLE APPLICATION.

1.  Locate the Spray Pattern Adjustment Knob/Dial on the back of the spray gun.
   
2. Turn Clockwise to “Close” or reduce the spray pattern width, turn counterclockwise to “Open” or increase spray pattern width.
   
3. Your goal is a 4 inch wide spray pattern spraying 4 inches away from the client’s body. From a fully closed (be gentle) position, open a half turn as a starting point.  Test on a white (light) towel until this setting is achieved. A wider pattern will only waste product. Spraying farther away only makes a mess and again waste product. THIS IS THE WAY TO SPRAY!!!!!
   
4. Locate the “Air Cap” on the front of the spray gun.  This is where the solution is sprayed out of the gun. You will see a pair of “horns”. When these horns are in the vertical position, you will spray up and down. When these are in the horizontal position, you will spray left to right.
   
5. Simply loosen the air cap ring to adjust the horns in your preferred direction. There is no “correct” way. What works for you is all that matters.      

Note: It is important to keep the gun more or less vertical when using a “suction” gun.  Inconsistent application will result if you turn the gun sideways (horizontal), particularly as the cup gets below half because the feed tube in the cup will start to suck air. Changing the horn orientation will allow you to maintain a vertical gun orientation while spraying in your preferred direction.

Quick Tips:

Use no more than 2 oz per application. Using more is a waste of product with no benefit.

Always do two (2) coats, 1 oz each coat. A single heavy coat does not work as well as two light

coats. Best results developed color results will be achieved by waiting 8-12 hours after application before first shower.

Apply very little to hands and feet, to much on these areas never works!!

Your application time should take no longer than 5 minutes; you will be able to achieve a 2-3

minute application with practice.

If you see “runs” or “beading”…you are probably going too slow…..MOVE THE GUN FASTER.

Rinse your spray gun with warm water after use, that’s all that is needed to keep your gun clean.
